Thank You

Sunday was a day that held both heartbreak and hope.
We are so proud to say we opened the Harrison Payne Track at Woorim — a place built from love, determination, and the unwavering belief that no more lives should be lost on our roads or beaches. A place created so that Harry’s story, and the lessons that came with it, can help protect others.
And today on World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, we honoured not just Harry, but every young life taken far too soon.
As the rain fell, we walked to the shoreline and released 59 flowers into the ocean — one for each of the 59 eighteen-year-olds lost to road trauma in the past ten years.

Fifty-nine futures stolen.

Fifty-nine families forever changed.
Fifty-nine less loved ones at the dinner table tonight.

Harry was one of them.
Watching those flowers drift out to sea was a reminder of how precious and fragile life is… and how deeply each of these young people mattered.
To everyone who stood with us today — at the track opening, on the beach, online, in spirit — thank you. Your presence, your support, your compassion lifts us more than you know. You help carry Harry’s legacy forward in the most meaningful way possible.
To the families grieving tonight: we see you, we honour your loved ones, and you are not alone.
To the young people we’ve lost: your names, your stories, your light remain with us.
To Harry: everything we do — every step, every conversation, every change we fight for — is for you.
May we remember with love.
May we act with purpose.
May we strive for safer roads so no more flowers need to be thrown to the sea.
In remembrance. In community. In hope.
Thank you to our supporters, our volunteers, our families, without you our mission to help others suffering from road trauma would not be possible.

The thrill of going off the beaten track is not without risks and that’s why ARB is proud to stand alongside the Harrison Payne Initiative (HPI). ARB is committed to promoting safe adventure for all ages and to help fund education programs, support services, and driver safety campaigns.

In May 2021, 18-year-old Harrison Payne tragically lost his life in a 4WD beach driving accident. Harrison was an adventurous, kind-hearted young man who loved the outdoors. His passing was preventable – and it inspired something powerful.

In his honour, the Harrison Payne Initiative was founded by his parents, Kent and Kylie, to advocate for safer off road practices, educate young drivers around risk taking, and support families impacted by similar tragedies. Click the picture to watch our very powerful video!

'INSPIRING AUSSIES TO SAVE LIVES ON & OFF THE ROAD'

Harrison ‘Harry’ Payne had been 18 years & 22 days old when his life was tragically taken in a 4WD crash on Woorim Beach, Bribie Island on May 30th, 2021. Harry’s death could have been prevented, and we want to do everything in our power to prevent this happening to another young person or family.

'Deadlift Day for Harry'

WOW – our biggest and best event yet!
We were blown away by the incredible support and record attendance from both our local community and those who travelled from afar.

This event is all about honouring Harry and his passion for deadlifts, ensuring his legacy continues to inspire us all.

A huge thank you to our key partners – especially World Gym Burpengary. Harry loved this gym, and without Justin’s ongoing support and vision, Harry’s event wouldn’t be what it is today.

We’re proud to share that we raised a record-breaking $18,000, boosted by an incredible $10,000 donation from ARB Australia. To the entire ARB team – thank you for standing beside us.

Our raffle was also the biggest yet, with over $7,000 in prizes! A special thanks to Mitch and the GWM Tank 4WD Club QLD for making it such a success.

To our 35 lifters – another record – your passion and commitment mean the world. And to our amazing supporters: Legendex, QLD Police Wanderers, Brisbane Brave Brothers, Courtney's Cookies, Just Signs Caboolture (Brad & Antoinnette), Jimmy Rods, Clean Offroad, Buddy Brewing – thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

To every volunteer who gave their time and energy – this wouldn’t be possible without you.

Every year we say, “next year will be bigger and better” – and it will be. This is for you, Harry. Your legacy is saving lives and supporting families, and we know you’d be smiling down on us all.

100% of the funds raised will go directly to families and to our vital road safety education programs.

The Harrison Payne Initiative is a Not-for-profit charity that aims to create change around Beach Safety, 4WD safety, and road safety whilst providing support for families who have experienced similar tragedies. We want to share our story at schools, beaches, online and in other spaces throughout the community to educate young people on the dangers of driving on the beach.  We want to share Harry’s story in a way that honours him and highlights the importance of driving responsibly and knowing when to speak up as a passenger.

We are fully registered with the Australian Government under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
